Meet Our Staff

Richard Bauman, Optician, and owner is passionate about the profession. He has held leadership positions in the New York State Society of Opticians, has served as an examiner for New York State’s licensing exam, and teaches ophthalmic dispensing at a program run by Suffolk County Community College.

Dr. Jacqueline Quiros, Optometrist, a graduate of SUNY College of Optometry, joined Optics Plus in DATE, taking over for Dr. Schneider upon his retirement. When not seeing patients in our office or another clinic, she might be found teaching at Suffolk County Community College, or enjoying her beautiful family.

Trish Topper, Optician, began her optical career quite early. Part time jobs in optical offices during college eventually lead her to a position here at Optics Plus. As a licensed optician she can explain the latest advances in spectacle or contact lenses. That, plus her great fashion sense and terrific personality have helped define Optics Plus.

Walter Donach, Optometrist is also SUNY College of Optometry alumni. He joined our team in 2008 to fill a need for more “exam time.” He is a very experienced clinician, especially in contact lens fitting. Patients will enjoy his friendly, approachable manner… a great fit for our office. Just please do not ask him about is dogs, or his lovely family… other patients are waiting.

Linda Blair, Stylist / Executive Assistant, is part-time, but definitely a key employee. Linda is also an “industry veteran” transitioning from work in an optometric office to a rewarding career on the wholesale side, representing a number of prestigious eyeglass frame lines. Much to our benefit, and yours, she decided to give up “shlepping” sample cases and chose to join us on the retail side.

Liz Kenderes, Stylist / Receptionist, was hired as a student helper for the office, but she quickly became a valued member of our “family.” Her goal was to use her degree in psychology and apply it to a career in business / human resources, which she recently moved on to. But, we’re not letting go so fast. She still brings her bright, cheerfulness to Optics Plus on Saturdays.
